LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Country songbird Carrie Underwood wed NHL star Mike Fisher in July, and the beautiful blonde says married life is "working out really nicely."

"Everyone always asks, 'Do you feel any different?' and I don't," Carrie told Access Hollywood at an Olay Skin Care event on Wednesday, of life after saying, "I do." "He's in Ottawa working right now, and I'm working, so it feels a lot like dating."

The "American Idol" reportedly began dating the Canadian athlete in 2008 after the two met at one of Carrie's concert. They became engaged in December 2009.

Although long-distance relationships can be challenging, the singer told Access that a little space sometimes has its benefits.

"It's kind of nice because I get to miss him and I get excited to see him," the newlywed said.

The Grammy-winning superstar told Access that the best part of the couple's fairytale Georgia wedding was being surrounded by their loved ones.

"We had all of our friends and family there, and everybody got to know everybody else," she said. "Canada got to know America -- it was awesome."

Months before Carrie Underwood's Southern wedding to hockey player Mike Fisher, the country superstar had indicated her pooch Ace was going to play an important part in the ceremony.

"He'll be one of the ring bearers — he's like my kid," she said in March. "Ace is such a big part of my life."

And Underwood made good on her promise last week when she and Fisher tied the knot at Georgia's Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation. As the newlyweds stood under a big white tent, 4-year-old Ace was there watching, dressed up in a custom, powder pink tuxedo, and wearing a custom white gold and diamond "A" designed by the jeweler Johnathon Arndt.

Ace's tuxedo, which was pink to match all the iterations of pink that were used throughout the reception, was worn with a sparkle-encrusted pink bow tie. "Mike was like, 'He's in pink! What are you doing?'" Underwood tells PEOPLE. "But he looked so handsome."

Her wedding planner, Jayne Bubis, agrees: "Ace was the best-looking dog ever."

As a member of the wedding party, Ace got to walk down the aisle with the human ring bearer, Underwood's nephew, and the flower girl, who got to hold Ace's leash.

"He needed a little bit of coaxing along the way, but he did great," Fisher says. "It was cute — it was a cool moment. Everybody really loved it."

When asked in March whether Ace would get to carry the ring, Fisher thought he probably wouldn't.

"I don't know if I'll put the ring on him," she said. "I don't know if he'll run away with it or eat it or something!"

There was no ring-eating on the big day, so all in all, we'd say Ace's performance was a big success!

Well what can we say, the dress does look big, but it is a “beautiful big”. All the flowers in the wedding were pink and white to match the colors worn by the bride. Underwood, who's from Oklahoma, has long proclaimed her love of fried Southern food, which was featured at her elegant wedding, along with festive cupcakes.

"The wedding was gorgeous," said a waiter who worked the event. "The food had a Southern flavor and there were delicious cupcakes. There was a lot of eating and a lot of drinking. It was a big party!"

Carrie, who vaulted to pop music stardom after winning American Idol in 2005, underwent a dramatic makeover, shedding 20 pounds shortly after winning the reality tv competition.

The 5'3" Underwood, who now weighs about 110 pounds, slimmed down by following a low-calorie, vegetarian diet consisting of veggie burgers and soy-based sausages and running on the treadmill.

"When I gain weight, it's in the spare-tire area," says Underwood. "I've told trainers abs are a physical impossibility for me. And every single time, they're like, 'Well, we'll get you abs!' So do I have them? No! But they're as flat as they're probably going to get."

In addition to isometric exercises, running and kickboxing, Carrie also does exercise DVD workouts.

"Jillian Michaels' videos will kick your butt," says Underwood. "She's my trainer, and she doesn't even know it!"

Carrie, 27, and Mike, 30, were married July 10 at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., before 200 friends and family members, reports Us.

Underwood, who will use her married name, Carrie Fisher, going forward, wore a Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier gown as she spoke her wedding vows under a lakeside tent. Carrie and Mike, a hockey player with the Ottawa Senators, had dated for a year and a half.

It was Chantilly lace for the pretty face of country music star Carrie Underwood as she walked down the aisle to marry NHL hockey player Mike Fisher on July 10 in Georgia.

The 27-year-old "American Idol" winner wore an elegant custom-made Chantilly lace wedding dress by designer Monique Lhuillier, People reports.

The singer described her dress back in March, "It's just girly and pretty, and it's simple and glamorous at the same time."

Underwood's bridesmaids also donned Monique Lhuillier dresses for the lavish nuptials held at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., according to the magazine.

Lhuillier's ultra-feminine wedding gowns have been selected by celebrity brides such as Pink, Ali Landry, and Britney Spears.

In February, the designer received prime-time exposure when "The Bachelor's" Molly Malaney wore one of Lhuillier's gowns -- a $45,000 strapless number accented with cascading rosettes -- for her televised California seaside marriage to Jason Mesnick.

The more than 200 guests included former "Idol" judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, as well as current judge Randy Jackson, reports Radaronline.com. Also in attendance were fellow country crooners Garth Brooks and Faith Hill.

The couple released the following statement to People: "We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and have shared this day with family and friends who mean so much.." They signed it, "Mike and Carrie Fisher." Awww!

Fisher, 30, plays center for the Ottawa Senators. He proposed to Underwood last December with a 12-carat diamond estimated to be worth $800,000.

The couple dated quietly for about a year after meeting backstage at a 2008 Underwood concert in Toronto.

After three days of knocking on doors -- literal and figurative -- being escorted off private property, being bombarded by gossip, rumours and innuendo, there's really only one thing we know for sure about the celebrity wedding of the year: Carrie and Mike Fisher got on a private jet at the Greene County Regional Airport at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, July 11.

I report this with certainty because I witnessed the event with my own eyes -- or almost. It wasn't until I saw the close-ups of the pictures Citizen photographer Chris Mikula took that I could confirm those two figures were really the newlyweds.

I could see she was smiling, wearing short-shorts with a striped tank (or possibly T-shirt), topped with a loose white shirt, for lack of a better descriptor.

Her hair was up, her feet were in flat sandals.

He was wearing a ball cap -- surprise, surprise -- and, well, some other clothes. (Frankly, no one really cares what Mike was wearing.)

I know that their grey GMC SUV-style vehicle was escorted by two cars from the sheriff's office and that the motorcade drove right up to the plane's gangway.

At this point, I am only willing to vouch for something I've personally witnessed when it comes to the Underwood-Fisher wedding, the security of which would put G20 organizers to shame.

But here's what else we've heard happened at -- or around, or near -- the wedding, in order of descending reliability.

We believe that Mike and Carrie were on their way to Los Angeles, because the Internet flight schedule showed a plane scheduled to leave the private Georgia airport for L.A. at 1:15 p.m Sunday. But as soon as the Fishers' plane took off, that flight's departure time was "corrected" to 11:05 a.m., destination still L.A. No idea where they went after that, although Underwood has said earlier that her new husband was planning the honeymoon.

If there was ever a place to have a secret celebrity wedding, Greensboro, Ga., must surely be it. Or more specifically, the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at the Reynolds Plantation.

That’s the apparently spectacular resort where Ottawa’s “it couple” are tying the knot today, ending weeks of speculation about where the nuptials might take place. The ceremony is set for 5:30 this afternoon, according to some reports, though others say the ceremony will take place earlier.

I say “apparently” not because I don’t believe the spectacular part. Surely web photos do not lie! It’s just that I haven’t been able to get a glimpse of the joint.

In trying to drive around the property’s perimeter, we discovered not only that it’s massive — perhaps as big as 10,000 acres — but also that it’s surrounded by woods so thick they fully mask any hint of the five-star splendour within.

The multi-platinum recording artist and her groom-to-be, Canadian pro hockey player Mike Fisher, have booked out the entire hotel for the occasion and their guests.

The price tag for the hotel alone is expected to exceed $268,000 a night.

Non-wedding hotel guests at the Ritz were served with a letter in the last 24 hours, requiring that everyone leave the premises by Noon, Friday.

“She has blocked off all 251 rooms at the hotel,” says Carey Williams, editor of The Herald Journal in Greensboro.

Rooms range from $300 to $1,500 a night.

Underwood and Fisher will spend their first night as husband and wife in the Presidential House, which is fit for the country princess and hockey’s hunkiest star.

For a whopping $4,000 a night, the couple will get VIP use of the lake and the 18th green on the golf course — not that we think golf is on their agenda.

The massive 5,400 square-foot suite comes with four master suites, including two king-size rooms and two double bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, terrace with access to the recreation room, private pool, living room and dining room that seats 16 people.

Underwood’s plans for her dream nuptials — expected to total more than $500,000 — are also taking shape, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

A tent has been erected in the posh hotel’s ground — near the lakeside landing where she will walk down the aisle, in a perfect romantic setting.

The Ritz is known for protecting the privacy of its guests, but RadarOnline.com has learned, VIP visitors started arriving Wednesday night, even though Underwood herself won’t be there until Friday.

“Carrie will be flying in by helicopter on Friday,” Williams tells us.

RadarOnline.com has also learned the waterways near the luxury hotel will be closed off from the public during the wedding, to prevent prying eyes from getting a look at the bride.

Fisher asked for Underwood’s hand in marriage in December, 2009; the couple has been dating since they met at one of her concerts a year earlier.

TSN Reports: Sens' Fisher to Marry Carrie Underwood This Weekend

OTTAWA, Ont. -- Country superstar Carrie Underwood and Ottawa Senators forward Mike Fisher are to get married this weekend, CTV Ottawa reports.

CTV says the couple will get hitched at a resort that will be shut down exclusively for the "Fisher-Wood" wedding.

But the location of the wedding is being kept secret and most of the guests don't even know where the wedding will take place.

CTV says the guests won't find out where they're travelling to until they show up at the airport on Thursday and are given tickets to their destination.

Among the guests are Fisher's teammates, Chris Phillips and Chris Neil.

Fisher proposed seven months ago, just days before Christmas.

Carrie Underwood: My Fiance's Planning a "Surprise" Honeymoon

Carrie Underwood may have already picked out her summer wedding venue and confirmed catering options, but there's one big hurdle that remains an unknown: Her honeymoon!

"[Planning] that was Mike's project," Underwood, 27, told reporters at the CMA Fest at Nashville's LP Field Thursday of her fiance Mike Fisher. "It's a surprise. I have no clue where we are going, which is nice. I know it will be warm, that's about it."

The hockey star -- who popped the question last December -- has helped with the wedding planning, though Underwood admits she's leaning on a planner to iron out the major details.

"Both of us are really busy. I still have a tour to finish," the singer explains. "There are a lot of great things going on this summer so [we're] getting through all that and taking things one step at a time and [having] lots of phone and email conversations."

"We really didn't register because we just want people there [at the ceremony]. The basics are always nice -- a nice wine or something. You can write your name on it so when you come over for dinner, we break it out. We just want people there, that's the best gift."

Wedding details continue to emerge for Carrie Underwood and her fiancé, Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher. Already revealing the dessert (cupcakes), and her hair (big!), the songbird now says she has at least one member of the wedding party secured -- her Chihuaha, Ace.

"He'll be one of the ring-bearers," Carrie divulged to Us Weekly, clarifying that Ace will have minimal responsibility on the big day. "I don't know if I'll give him the actual ring. He would probably run away with it or eat it or something!"

Even if the pup's role isn't very functional, his mama says she wouldn't consider not having him participate in the ceremony. "He's like my kid," Carrie says. "It would be like if I was getting married and I had a child -- of course my child would be in the wedding!"

Staying mum on many of the details, including the actual date, Carrie does reveal that there is a dress "in the works ... it's very much in the beginning stages, but it's very me: it's girly, pretty, simple and glamorous."

Carrie is juggling wedding plans while on the road with her Play On tour, along with opening acts Sons of Sylvia and Craig Morgan. She will take time off the road to perform at the upcoming ACM Awards, where she is nominated for five trophies, including Entertainer of the Year. The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air live on April 18 on CBS at 8:00 PM ET.
