Carrie Underwood to be honored for music promotion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Singer Carrie Underwood will be honored Saturday for supporting various kinds of music in Nashville.

She'll be given the Symphony Ball Harmony Award, and also perform during the ball at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Underwood, a former "American Idol" winner, is a three-time winner of the Country Music Association's female vocalist of the year award and has won four Grammy awards.

She's sold more than 10 million albums since her 2005 debut.
