Underwood, Paisley entertain on "Good Morning America" in Nashville

About 300 Nashvillians came out this morning -- most arriving before 6 a.m. -- to be a part of the "GMA at the CMA Awards" broadcast, with country music stars Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley performing as part of the show.

"Good Morning America" host Bill Weir anchored the program, which was held in front of the Sommet Center to plug the Country Music Awards. Underwood and Paisley are hosting the CMAs, which will air tomorrow night at 7.

The gates for "Good Morning America" today opened at 6, when Paisley surprised the audience by coming on the stage and performing. Underwood went on about 20 minutes later. Both artists were brought out again at 7:30 a.m. to perform for the live broadcast, with Underwood singing her new single "Temporary Home" and Paisley performing "American Saturday Night."

After the live show, both artists stuck around and sang some more for the crowd, which held locals of all ages. Surprise guest artists, including Rodney Adkins, dropped in during the filming, and Alan Jackson had an autograph session afterward at 9 a.m. on 1st Avenue.
