LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Singers Beyonce, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, P!nk and Taylor Swift are the contenders for the 2010 People's Choice Award for female artist.

Shortlisted in the male artist category are Eminem, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw.
Up for the prize for favorite country artist are Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift.
The nominees for favorite breakout music artist are Adam Lambert, Demi Lovato, Kris Allen, Lady Gaga and Susan Boyle.
In the running for the favorite hip-hop artist honor are Eminem, Flo Rida, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne and T.I.
Nominated for favorite rock band are Daughtry, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Muse and Paramore.
Up for the award for favorite music collaboration are "Good Girls Go Bad" by Cobra Starship and Leighton Meester; "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat; "Run This Town" by Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West; "Life Your Live" by T.I. and Rihanna; and "I'm On a Boat" by The Lonely Island & T-Pain.
Vying for the trophy for favorite R&B artist are Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey and Usher.
The nominees for favorite pop artist are Britney Spears Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and The Black Eyed Peas.
The 2010 People's Choice Awards are to be handed out at a ceremony on Jan. 6 at the Nokia Theater, L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Queen Latifah is to serve as host of the event.
Voting for the prizes opened to the public Tuesday at peopleschoice.com.
